JC Fit City recommends 4 major running routes in Hong Kong that not only help you stay active but also allow you to enjoy beautiful sceneries, helping you relax your body and mind.
Choosing the right running route on holidays makes exercise more enjoyable. Here are four recommended running routes in Hong Kong:
Conveniently located, runners can enjoy the stunning city skyline and the mesmerizing view of Victoria Harbour, providing both visual and mental relaxation.

● Difficulty: Beginner, suitable for all types of runners

This short-distance running route is popular in running events as many organizations choose it as a race track. Starting at Whitehead Promenade Park, runners can enjoy coastal scenery. The paths (pavements) are broad, allowing runners to run without obstruction from crowds.

Tai Po Tolo Harbour short-distance running route is a popular race track for many organizations.
The Shing Mun River offers beautiful sceneries and well-planned paths along the river, free from the need to cross roads or avoid vehicles (unless mistakenly entered into a bike track). Along the way, there are supply stations and storage services, providing everything you need. This route starts from Shatin Sports Ground, winding around Shatin Park, which is approximately three kilometers per loop.

Tseung Kwan O Waterfront Park's facilities are becoming increasingly comprehensive, making it a popular spot for residents’ morning and evening exercises. This route starts and ends at two MTR stations, with convenient supply facilities along the way, making it manageable even without bringing water, even in cooler seasons.

● Difficulty: Beginner to Intermediate, suitable for all types of runners
Tseung Kwan O Waterfront has become a popular spot for residents’ morning and evening exercises.
Convenient supply facilities along the Tseung Kwan O Waterfront route make it manageable even without bringing water.
Running, with relatively low equipment requirements, is a simple aerobic exercise. However, understanding some precautions before starting is crucial. As recommended by the LCSD, choose suitable running shoes, stay hydrated, and set a reasonable running plan based on your fitness level.
