JC Fit City
Research shows that over 65% of Hong Kong’s population do not maintain a healthy exercise regime. To promote their interest in physical activity, The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust has initiated and funded JC Fit City. The project aims to encourage Hong Kong citizens to incorporate sports and exercise into their daily lives with the aim of achieving the World Health Organization's recommended weekly level of physical activity. Through citywide iconic events and a wide range of low-entry-barrier sports activities, JC Fit City strives to increase citizens’ awareness of the benefits of an active lifestyle and help them build peer support networks through participating in sports. JC Fit City is co-organised by the Hong Kong Playground Association, The Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups, RunOurCity Foundation, InspiringHK Sports Foundation, the Elite Athletes Charitable Trust and The Education University of Hong Kong.
