Running has numerous benefits - it keeps us fit, helps prevent diseases, and even boosts our mood and strengthens our willpower. In Hong Kong, running is no longer just a form of exercise, it has become a lifestyle. Runners are professional in their gear, aggressive in breaking PB (Personal Best), and eager to participate in different competitions. Runners’ dedication and unwavering attitude have become a symbol of a trendy life, attracting many people to join in.

Are you feeling the urge to start running too? Before you jump into it, remember to prepare yourself properly. JC Fit City has put together some key points for you, so you can stay in the trend while running in a healthy and comfortable way.

Before Running:
• Set personal goals and create a training plan with progression based on your abilities.
• Dress appropriately for the weather and prepare the necessary gear (such as sunglasses, sunscreen, and warm clothing).
• Avoid running on an empty stomach or with a full stomach
• Keep your body well-hydrated to prevent dry mouth, thirst, and dehydration.

During Running:
• Warm up with activities like light jogging and stretching, which allow your body to gradually prepare for further exercise.
• Stay mindful of hydration.
• Pay attention to your body condition, running form, and muscle strength. Don't push over your limit.
• If you feel uncomfortable, slow down or take a short break.

After Running:
• Cool down with activities like light jogging and stretching, which allow your body to calm down.
• Replenish your body with an adequate amount of water and, if needed, consume carbohydrates and protein-rich foods.
• Avoid consuming beverages containing alcohol or caffeine.
