Fun Fact: Skateboard

08 Mar 2024

The origins of skateboard are closely tied to the surf culture in California, USA. Surfing is heavily influenced by geographical and weather conditions, so surf enthusiasts decided to recreate the sport on land. They attached iron wheels to the bottom of a wooden board, giving birth to the first generation of skateboards. Back then, skateboarding was primarily practiced by surfers who wanted to practice their footwork when there were no waves. As a result, skateboard movements were very similar to surfing and mostly flatland tricks.

Skateboard used to be just a street sport, but now it has successfully made its way to the Olympic stage, and it's gaining popularity in Hong Kong too. JC Fit City is proud to introduce a series of skateboard experience classes, training sessions, and competitions. Everyone is welcome to join!
